Zurich-based preventive healthcare company Aeon has acquired German blood diagnostics platform Aware Health and closed an extension to its seed funding round. The extension brings total seed funding above €12 million, according to EU-Startups. That is the cumulative funding figure, not the size of the latest extension.
The acquisition expands Aeon’s effort to combine whole-body MRI, recurring blood tests and AI analysis in one preventive-health offering. The company says repeated measurements can help its models identify trends and flag changes over time. Those are the company’s stated capabilities and ambitions; the acquisition announcement does not independently establish improved patient outcomes.
EU-Startups reported that Araya Ventures co-led the extension, with existing investors including Concentric, GoHub Ventures, Kadmos Capital, Calm/Storm Ventures, N&V Capital and Bigwave Capital participating. The financing builds on €8.2 million in seed funding raised in June 2025.

What Aware Health Adds
Aware Health brought a regulated diagnostics platform, live laboratory integrations and a network of more than 45 blood-draw locations. Its preventive-health test panels covered more than 100 biomarkers, and it served close to 10,000 active customers. Aeon acquired the full technology platform, key contracts and equipment, customer relationships and the core team.
The Berlin team is continuing under the Aeon brand without interruption, the report said. That gives Aeon an established blood-testing operation alongside its imaging business, rather than requiring it to develop the entire service from the beginning. Germany has been Aeon’s fastest-growing market since it began operating there in early 2026.
Customer records are subject to a separate condition. Aeon says data will transfer only with each customer’s explicit individual consent and in accordance with GDPR. The acquisition of customer relationships should therefore not be read as an unconditional transfer of every customer’s medical information.
Combining Imaging and Recurring Tests
Founded in 2023, Aeon describes a platform combining whole-body MRI with blood diagnostics and analysis of genetic risks. The company says its imaging can identify more than 500 possible anomalies across the brain, organs and vessels, while blood testing covers more than 100 biomarkers. These figures describe the company’s offering, not independently verified diagnostic accuracy.
Aeon distinguishes between episodic imaging and recurring blood tests. Its goal is a health record updated quarter after quarter, allowing different kinds of information to be compared over time. In its account, a single measurement provides a snapshot, while repeated measurements can reveal trends and deviations.
Founder and chief executive Tim Seithe described the rationale: “Imaging tells you where you are. Blood diagnostics tell you where you are heading. AI is what connects the two into prediction.” He said acquiring Aware Health accelerated that vision by two years. That timetable is management’s assessment of the deal, not a measured clinical benefit.
The Company’s Findings and AI Plans
Aeon reports that more than 90 percent of its check-ups produce findings customers can act on, with a significant finding rate of 15.4 percent. The announcement does not provide an independent assessment of those rates. Finding an anomaly and showing that screening improves a person’s health are different claims; the reported percentages should not be treated as proof of the latter.
Pablo Tano is joining as AI Lead to develop the platform’s intelligence layer. The company describes models that combine imaging, blood biomarkers and genetic information for personalized risk prediction and tailored interventions. Aware Health’s recurring-testing dataset forms part of that roadmap, subject to the stated consent requirements.
Aware Health co-founder Ferdinand Schmidt-Thomé said the acquisition would let the platform continue growing within a broader preventive-health offering. Araya Ventures managing partner Rupa Popat also backed the combination of imaging, blood diagnostics and AI. Both comments come from parties involved in the transaction.
A Broader Preventive-Health Market
The deal sits alongside other European investment in preventive healthcare and diagnostics. EU-Startups identified approximately €667 million in relevant and adjacent rounds in 2026, including €612.7 million for Neko Health. Its total falls to roughly €55 million when that one large round is excluded, illustrating how heavily the headline figure depends on a single transaction.
For Aeon, the immediate changes are the additional funding, testing infrastructure and team. The company aims to expand its preventive-health offering across Europe. Its claims about prediction and early detection remain distinct from evidence that the combined service produces better long-term health outcomes.
